Representing Teachers

    In recent months, I have spoken at a City Council meeting, School Board meeting, and during the Facilities Commission public comment. Please click on the link below and scroll to the time mark noted to see me speak. In the first link, I was part of a small group of educators from across the district who spoke about the impact of staffing cuts on schools. I spoke on behalf of Portland High School teachers. (If you have not seen this before, please check out the whole segment as these PPS educators represented you all so well!) --> How do I convince you that I am the best candidate for PEA President? I think the best way is to share the process I went through in deciding if I should run. I considered each major part of the job and the skills required to do it successfully. Then I reflected on whether or not I currently possess those skills or if I could learn the skill or knowledge quickly.  This process happened through conversation and reflection with colleagues, friends, and family.
